KERALA AYURVEDA

Ayurveda Clinics follows Kerala Ayurveda principles and systems of medicine, treatment and healing. According to Kerala Ayurveda, health is a participatory ongoing process of achieving and maintaining a dynamic balance in all the aspects of life through the means of comprehensive natural therapies customized to suit the individual's psychosomatic constitution and the current imbalance. The goal of this process is not only to heal disease and to re-establish balance but also to prevent disease and to promote positive health.

Kerala Ayurveda stresses the use of plant-based medicines and treatments. Hundreds of plant-based medicines are employed, including cardamom and cinnamon.
In Kerala Ayurveda the Panchakarma method of treatment is the most well known.
Though Ayurveda is more than 5000 years old in India, it came to Kerala during the period between 5th -7th century AD when the twin cultures of Buddhism and Jainism was spreading across India. With the settlement of Brahmins in Kerala, the popularity of Ayurveda grew. By the 14th century, there was immense use of Sanskrit language among the non Brahmins and this paved way for more and more people to read and grasp the text of the Ayurveda samhitas. Suppressed during British rule in India, Kerala Ayurveda was preserved by practitioner families and is now taught in Ayurvedic Colleges in Kerala and elsewhere.

The most favourable time for Kerala Ayurveda cures is in the monsoon, when the atmosphere remains dust free and cool. Various types of Ayurvedic therapies are practiced in Kerala. The most prominent one include the Abhyangam, Dhanyamla Dhara, Dhara, Kativasthi, Ksheeradhoomam, Njavarakizhi, Sirovasthi, Snehapanam, Udvarthanam, Urovasthi, Vasthi and the Yoni Prakshalanam. These treatments ranges from seven to fourteen days or even more depending upon the package you are choosing.

Kerala Ayurvedic treatments are time tested and proven for the cure and management of various chronic diseases such as arthritis, paralysis, neurological ailments, spine problems, skin diseases and psychosomatic disorders. Also treated successfully are High Blood Pressure and Diabetes; Muscular Spasm, Cramps and Frozen Shoulder; Stress, Anxiety, Depression and Sleep Disorders; Headaches, Migraine and Sinusitis; Hair Loss, Obesity and Urinary tract diseases.
